Disabled parking

A guide to disabled parking spaces across Ironbridge Gorge. Parking arrangements and bay availability can change — some spaces may require a valid Blue Badge, charges may still apply, and we always recommend checking signage on arrival.

📝 Quick notes

  • If you have a Blue Badge, check the signs in each car park/space for any local restrictions.
  • Spaces can fill quickly on busy weekends and event days.
  • Safety note (The Wharfage): Please don't park outside marked bays or on the road along The Wharfage. It can block access and create awkward, unsafe conditions for traffic, pedestrians and emergency vehicles.

  • Central Car Park (formerly Station Yard Car Park) — TF8 7JU — 100 spaces — 4 disabled bays. EV charging: 12 chargers. Payment: pay & display applies 10am–5pm (free outside these hours).
  • Dale End Car Park — TF8 7AN — 50 spaces (including disabled bays). Payment: pay & display applies 10am–5pm (free outside these hours).
  • Dale End Village (The Wharfage, Ironbridge) — 3 disabled spaces (customer parking only, max stay 2 hours). Payment: not stated here; check signage.
  • The Wharfage Car Park (Ironbridge) — 3 disabled bays. Payment: pay & display applies 10am–5pm (free outside these hours).
  • The Square Car Park (Ironbridge) — 3 disabled bays. Payment: pay & display applies 10am–5pm (free outside these hours).
  • Waterloo Street Car Park (Ironbridge) — disabled bays available. Payment: pay & display applies 10am–5pm (free outside these hours).
  • The Maws (Jackfield) — 2 disabled bays. Payment: free.

♿ Do Blue Badge holders still need to pay? This page doesn't currently include Blue Badge-specific concessions for these car parks. Assume normal charges apply during paid hours unless signage states otherwise.

💡 Tips for visiting

  • Consider quieter times (early morning / late afternoon) if you need a nearby space.
  • If you're using a mobility aid, note that some routes have steep or uneven surfaces.
