Welcome. These guides are written to help you plan a visit to the Ironbridge Gorge with confidence — knowing before you set off where you'll find step-free entrances, accessible toilets, Blue Badge bays and somewhere comfortable to sit.
The Gorge is a historic UNESCO World Heritage Site. Many buildings are centuries old, and some cobbled streets, steps, narrow doorways, steep hills and uneven surfaces simply cannot be changed. We describe what is actually there, rather than pretending everywhere is easy.
This is a planning tool, not a guarantee of accessibility. Layouts, staffing and facilities change, so please call ahead when access is critical to your visit — and tell us if you find something different, so the next visitor gets better information.
Where a facility hasn't been checked yet, the guides say "Information coming soon" rather than guessing.
