About the Trust

Founded in 1967, the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust grew out of an effort to save the industrial remains of the Gorge from disappearing under scrub and demolition. It went on to run ten museums along a two-mile stretch of the Severn, from Blists Hill Victorian Town to the Coalport China Museum and the Museum of the Gorge.

Museum status

Museum Trust sites closed after trading on Sunday 22 February 2026. Reopening is happening in phases under the National Trust, with dates still to be confirmed for several sites. Check the current position before travelling.
